    Hi,

I recently had hard drive errors. The dc replaced the hd.. Installed RH 9.. and I installed cPanel. (took forever might I add)

Anyhow im in, logged in.. configured mostly everything.

Now to add the accounts back.. OMG.. how the hell do I go about this.. is the first thing I ask myself...

Ok copy the old /home/ dir over to the new /home/ bad idea.. might overwrite something that is required. Individualy copy files over.. ok... What about emails? mySQL db's?

How should I go about doing this?

Now I know you can copy accounts over using the cPanel transfer thingy.. but I cant specify a different partition.. obviously its gonna look at the current running cpanel.. Not the /backup (which is the old hd)

What should I do.. I need help ASAP.. server been offline 5+ hours :(

So just to clarify, you don't have access to the backup files that cpanel created?

ok I just moved the db's ... now to just worry about the emails...

to move the db's I just moved all the folders from

    /backup/var/lib/mysql

    to /var/lib/mysql

they show up in phpmyadmin so now to create the accounts and link them.

hopefully I can figure out how to do this.

Nice list. I bookmarked it since I will probably be upgrading in a month or 2. :)
