Im runnnig WHM/cPAnel server and recently one of my users brought the server down, I checked the Apache logs which showed the following:

proxy: Error reading from remote server returned by /index.php, referer: http://forums.XXX.com/topic.php?id=32632&replies=8
[Wed Apr 27 18:13:17 2011] [error] [client XXX.XXX.XX.XXX] (70007)The timeout specified has expired: proxy: error reading status line from remote server zesh.me:80, referer: http://forums.XXX.com/topic.php?id=32632&replies=8
The above message appeared over 100 times, and looked like some kind of loop going on....

Can anyone give me tips on how I can stop this from happening again in the future?

How did the user bring the server down precisely? Was it high load, CPU or memory? Did they cause Apache itself to hang only (but the machine was accessible)? How did you know it was that specific user that caused the issue? A few 100 times for an attempt to access the machine with an error would not normally bring an entire server down.
