    Hello,
The firewall(iptables) on the server is blocking ping request. If I stop the iptables the server responds to ping.

Any suggestion ? how can I prevent the iptables from blocking the ping.

    Urgent help is appreciated.

    Hey there,

Natively, iptables doesn't really filter anything you don't tell it to. Are you running a firewall management solution like CSF or APF?

By default, firewalls do not block ICMP unless they were specifically configured.

To reset the firewall to defaults (which I do not recommend) you could issue the following commands:

    Code:
    [root@server ~]# iptables -F
    [root@server ~]# iptables-save
Again, I don't recommend the above. If you have a firewall manager like CSF or APF, then you can configure that to let ICMP through via their configs.

    Let me know,
