Use exim as an smtp gateway

Hello,
We would like to use WHM/Exim as an external smtp gateway for google workspace.
Is there a way to configure exim so that authentication is not required?

Hey there! There likely isn't going to be a way to get Exim to work without authentication, but can you provide me more details on your configuration? Are you sending out from your server to a smarthost?

Hello there! Thanks a lot for your answer!!
No we are trying to act as a smarthost. We want to implement this : Set up an outbound gateway to process outgoing email - Google Workspace Admin Help and get google workspace to send email through our server, our server would act as a gateway.
We were able to bypass authentication by adding the from host to domainlist relay_domains and adding the emitting server IP to Trusted hosts ( /etc/skipsmtpcheckhosts ), the email ends up being accepted, but however it is not delivered.

Thanks for the additional details. Are there any interesting errors in the Exim log (/var/log/exim_mainlog) when the message doesn't get delivered? I'd expect any delivery actions to get shown there.

Yes we do get this error : check_mail_permissions could not determine the sender domain

This is likely due to the WHM >> Tweak Settings option of "Prevent “nobody” from sending mail" being enabled. Could you try disabling that option and then see if that works well?

I tried disabling this setting, but I still get the same error and the email still doesn't get delivered.

I'm honestly not sure what the issue could be, as this isn't a standard use of Exim and cPanel that we have documented. It might be best to submit a ticket to our team so we can see the email in action and then we may be able to recommend a fix.
