Hello,
I'm new to cpanel and I am trying to figure out how to create this setup. I have been testing on my own as well.
Our requirement/wish is this: to have a reseller account not tied to a domain, that can access all accounts under their separate logins, but not have root level access.
Some notes:
1) I know how to create a reseller account not tied to a domain. I have the cpanel document for this.
2) from my tests, it appears that if I create a reseller account and take away the everything privilege in reseller privileges, then that reseller account can only access the domains that they create (which is awesome, I love this feature)
however, the problem is, I want to have a reseller account that can access all accounts but not have root access.
some thinking about this, I am left with two options:
1) create a generic account that everyone uses that is not root level/everything privilege. But this takes away accountability that can come with individual accounts.
2) Create individual accounts, and live with everything access, but this leaves some uncomfortable things like people being to add themselves to the wheel group through the gui and maybe other things that I haven't thought about.
has someone come up with away to have separate accounts for other techs (I guess its just called reseller accounts regardless of if it is a real reseller or non root user technician)
that can't have root level access/privileges but can access every account on the system still.
if I find a way to do this, I will post back my findings as well.
thanks everyone.
