    Every so often when someone deletes a web-site through whm userdel seems to crash and takes up almost 100% of the cpu, is there anything that can be done about this? It almost completely brings the server down.

    Try checking your passwd and group files for duplicate entries ..

    yes | /usr/sbin/grpck
    yes | /usr/sbin/pwck

    Not really .. I just opened up a bug in the redhat bug system ..

    I found this in the logs at the time of the crash, this was in messages

    Feb 19 10:58:08 super last message repeated 56 times
    Feb 19 10:58:08 super last message repeated 2 times
    Feb 19 10:58:08 super last message repeated 5 times
    Feb 19 10:58:08 super last message repeated 11 times
    Feb 19 10:58:08 super last message repeated 3 times
    Feb 19 10:58:08 super last message repeated 2 times
    Feb 19 10:58:08 super last message repeated 12 times
    Feb 19 10:58:08 super last message repeated 2 times
    Feb 19 10:58:08 super last message repeated 3 times

    and this was in secure

    Feb 19 10:58:05 super userdel[8935]: delete `bwhosts' from group `bwhosts'

    It looks like its trying to delete that user lots of times

    This is starting to become a big problem, its happening almost once a day on 2 of my servers, almost brings them down each time.

    If theres a duplicate entry and someone tries to delete a user with a duplicate entry will there still be a duplicate entry afterwards?
