    hi

when I create an account, it says that "Sorry that username is too long. MAX is 8 letters ". Is it possible to set the MAX to 16 letters ?

    thanks

Yes, someone please let us know how. On the previous version of WHM, I used to be able to edit /scripts/wwwacct to change the >8 to say >16 to allow creation of longer usernames.

Since the upgrade last night the wwacct script has changed completely and there is nowhere to change the max username length. This is urgent for us as we have automated scripts (i know, i shouldn't have updated without testing but forgot to turn the auto updates off)

    Please help...

    Go on, have a guess
Id' suggest you log a ticket with cPanel through your license provider as it's likely only something that they can comment on. Since 8 character usernames is what is officially supported, you might be out of luck with the hack you were using.

But this now leaves us with a big problem. At least if we know where we can get rid of the limit again that's all we need.

    any update?

Can anyone post the resolution to this issue? Is there a way to configure WHM to use longer usernames?
