Is it possible to use an external mail server, such as Communigate Pro for example instead of the mail server that comes with cPanel/WHM? Is there a way to tie the two together during the account creation process?

    Thanks,

The answer is yes and no.

If you use an external mail server, you will not have any integration with cPanel or WHM. Meaning no mail queue management via WHM, no email address creation via cPanel etc. So you'll need to disable mail functionality in the disabled feature list in Feature Manager in WHM to reduce customer support issues/confusion.

However, you can customize DNS Zone templates to have the MX entry point to the remote server.
