using external mail server

Hi Techs/friends,

I have an account hosted in the host server (cpanel) which has the mx records pointed to an external mail server having sendmail. As I understood, since the domain has A pointers in the host server. The mail are being sent fine from the server, but they are not recieved . What all settings should be done to allow the mails to be relayed from the sendmail/mail server ?

550 5.7.1 <[email protected]>... Relaying denied while sendig mails to this domani.

Hello

Please browse to the following option in Web Host Manager:

"WHM Home » DNS Functions » Edit DNS Zone"

Select the domain name and select "Remote Mail Exchanger" under "Email Routing" if the domain name is not already in the /etc/remotedomains file. You should also ensure the email accounts for this domain name are configured on the remote mail server, and that the MX records are configured properly.

Thank you for the reply. I had already done the steps that need to be done in the cpanel. Do I need to make any changes in the sendmail server(mail) , so that it relays ?
