Using MS Outlook Express via Horde email

Hi, i want to use MS Outlook as my portal for all my email accounts. I am trying with little success to get my Horde email address set-up in Outlook.

I think i am using the wrong Server URL in Outlook. I assumed it is the address i use when logging in to my Horde email i.e. www.setterbrae.co.uk:2095/horde. Is this correct? If not, can anyone let me know what i should be using. If it is correct, does anyone know what the problem might be.

Also, i assume that Horde is HTTP connection and not POP3 or IMAP? I have selected HTTP but maybe i'm wrong?!

    Any help appreciated.

    yaduks.

It appears that you are trying to set up a POP email address in Outlook and are confused by the horde settings.

You are setting up a POP3 account.
    Incoming mail server is mail.setterbrae.co.uk
    Username/Account Name is emailaddress@setterbrae.co.uk
    Password is your password
The outgoing mail server is a littel tougher, either it will be something like smtp.yourisp.com (replace with the smtp of your isp) or you may also use mail.setterbrae.co.uk but you would also need to enable authentication. This also depends on whether your isp allows you to send mail using another mail server, mine unfortunately does not as it has blocked port 25.

    Thanks,
    Andy

    normal?

set your smtp server to your isp setting and try that as in mail.yourispname.com or smtp.yourispname.com in outlook

i already have my smtp server set up like that.

i called sbc and get this - you have to fill out a form for 3rd party emails! i had no
idea - anyway, the guy filled out a form for me and opened port: 25.

STILL CAN'T SEND email. mamma mia.

he told me to wait 2 hours and turn off everything, wait 10 seconds, and turn back on.

    if this doesn't work.........

if this doesn't work what else do i do?? bah.

edit: well it is now 5 hours later and i still can't send email. i'm going to contact
my webhost and see if they can help me out.

again if anyone here can help me .....
