using shell access, how to use it?

    i want to restore my phpbb database, but it seems to large to restore via phpmyadmin, does anybody can tel me how to use shell accsess for restoring a large size database?

    Hmm.., several notes :
    i dont have accsess to the root directory (i dont have accsess as an admin on my server)

    If you have shell access... (haven't tested if jailed shell works or not, but I think it ought to).. and you know the login for your mysql database, you should be able to use the 'mysql' program and insert your sql data file into the database. You don't need root access to load an sql file (unless your database doesn't exist already / or your mysql login doesn't have the correct permissions.)

    Search at google.com for the proper commands.

    The command is
    mysql -u USERNAME -p DBNAME < filename.sql
