Using the backup feature when moving...

I'm in the process of moving from one host to another. Both use Cpanel.

Can I use the /home backup feature to upload to my new host's cpanel?

And will that carry with it all my settings, such as webpage redirects?

That's what I'm trying to find out how to do.
I've scanned through the documentation and didn't see anything about transferring accounts, or moving websites, or any other keywords that would cover moving a site.

Got any idea how to do this?
Or is there some docs on this, and if so, where?

there nothing in WHM related to transfer from provider to another
That's real smart!

Wonder why the company doing this doesn't put a little documentation out on this.

I guess they figure we should waste a bunch of time experimenting until we get it right.

Surely somebody knows how to do this.

That sounds easy. Is this in the Cpanel for the specific site I want to transfer, or is this done in WHM.

My outgoing host and my new host have both, so this should workout great.

Hmm looks to me like you have a reseller account, in which case you can't transfer the files using your WHM. You'd have to get the person who hosts you to do it from the main WHM. All they'd need is the IP of the old account, the username and the password, then they could transfer it over and assign ownership of it to you.

Thanks, Donna.

I'll get with my people and have them contact their people and discuss while they do lunch!
