/usr/bin/install: cannot remove `/etc/my.cnf\': Operation not permitted

How do we fix? and what is it?

That\'s the base profile for mysqladmin........ if this is a fresh box I don\'t see why you can\'t remove it to appease the install program.

Someone chattr +i\'d the my.cnf, I\'ve done this on many of my boxes since I\'ve gotten tired of WHM replacing the my.cnf with the standard one....

Ah, should have known.
My bad- Yea whenever you see \"operation not permitted\" just figure that the renowned immutable bit hath been applied to the file in question. And/or some ungoldy other bit setting or thrice-removed old root user has permission over it.

Just to make sure were on the same level, Since I just chattr\'d the my.cnf on our server with you, I hope your not gonna change this :) I will be very mad, I finally got this mysql lined out and the server is running great since I got rid of the crappy my.cnf.. :D
