Is there any particular reason that this direcotry is chmod'd to 777 on our servers? It is also owned by nobody. I'm just curious if there is any reason, can I safely chmod it to 755 and change owner to root?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Did you ever find an answer to to this? The directory permissions were 755 on our server, but also owned by nobody. We just had a shellbot script (perl) uploaded into this directory (owned by user nobody) which was causing a us a bit of trouble.

Anybody else know why this (vulnerable) directory is even there?

    Mav.
