    hello,


    i have a server that the partition of /var is full, the partition large 15GB but when i check its not 15GB at all, any idea why ?

    /dev/hdc2 15G 14G 99M 100% /var


    here is the result of du -s * in /var

    12 account

    the larges is from lib but its only contain sql 1GB.
    any one can help me please ? or do have an idea about it.

    try restarting the server

    i did, and its still the same.

    Just out of curiosity do a :

    cd /var
    du > alldu

    do the "alldu" to another partition if you cannot do it to the var partition

    Then do a :

    cat alldu | sort -nr |more

    see if the "cat" shows anything different than the other du you did before,it might show
    something huge you dont see before.
