    hello ladies and gentleman, rookie here...

    i am currently in the process of transferring my forum from a godaddy shared hosting to a vps.

    i have created a mysql database using the cpanel.

    the next step i have to do is to restore my database dump and reconfigure my application to use local database .

    i have no clue how to accomplish this.

    the server support told me that it can be done with these commands'

    cd /path/to/where/dbdump/is/located

    gunzip dump-file.sql.gz

    mysql -uDBUSER -pDBPASS -h localhost DBNAME < dump-file.sql

    Where:
    DBUSER - database username;
    DBPASS - password for DBUSER
    DBNAME - database name
    dump-file.sql - file name which contains mysql database dump

    but i have no clue where to enter these commands.

    anyone care to help?
