Hello

Last days i am facing a problem with many of my cpanel servers

I use cpanel backup to take site backups and i transfer my backups to sftp destinations

After a while the sftp connection becomes very slow

I may take up to 1 hour to transfer a 2GB file from cpanel server to backup server

When i transfer manually in parallel the same file, the same time, from the same server to the same backup server manually, it takes only 28 seconds

So this is not a network problem, is is not caused because of limited bandwidth

After the backup has finished, there are still half or more of the backup files in the cpanel /backup/2020-02-11/accounts folder waiting to be transferred to the backup server

Servers are typical centos cloudlinux cpanel servers with 64/128 Ram 1GB port

Have you any idea what is causing this behavior?

Hello

Thank you for your replies

I checked the logs and compared with older logs and with non problematic server logs, they are OK

Cpanel does the backups on time, the problem is in the transfer procedure

Eg the backup starts at 00:30 and the last site is backed up at 4:00 and then it takes an other 16 hours for the transfer to finish

I checked with the datacenter , they cant spot a problem, and suggest to do multiple parallel connections

The transporter logs should give you an indication of an issue with the backup transport though, specifically. The backup logs I would expect to include little data on the actual transport. It also may be that this is something best to troubleshoot with access to the server. Feel free to open a ticket using the link in my signature. If you do end up opening a ticket please update this thread with the ticket ID so I can follow up here with the resolution/findings.

Hello

The problem persist, but i think too that it is not cpanel related.
Maybe it caused because of some kind of throttling by the datacenter, but they don't admit it, or they are not aware of it.

I asked to mark the ticked as solved

Thank you for your support
