ok I feel now like a complete imbecile but can someone please tell me where I put my main files for my main account? I know where to put them for every account except the one main account. when I go to http://www.mydomain.com where do those files go please? Man I feel so low for asking that.

I know the /home/username/public_html part for the people I am hosting but I run the server and would like to know where the files go for the main site itself.

Oh. You should create an account for yourself, and then you can upload your files the same way as your users do.
    ...Unless your hostname is www...

ok but then how do I get it to come up on just the regular url instead of having to have it in a user account. Like for example http://www.getalife.com how would I direct my main site to fetch the files from my account to show on the frontpage?

When you say regular URL do you mean servername.yourdomain.com ?
    Those files are in /usr/local/apache/htdocs

I have another dumb question. I want CPanel access for the main server. My hostname is one.andhosting.com. I made an account for andhosting.com, but the files i upload there don't show up when I go to andhosting.com There's just the "Het, it worked!" apache message there.

I tried FTPing into andhosting.com and I tried my Ip as well with the username as root and it said "Authentication failed." I want to FTP into the site so I can upload our site. Thanks.

Just to let everyone know, this was a network problem on my end because of our NAT and the way it handles IPs. Got it workign now.
