    Ok heres what I did.

I needed to edit every IP in the httpd.conf so I copied it to the home dir /home/adam, downloaded it, edited it in wordpad, re uploaded it, then copied it back to /usr/local/apache/conf and now I get these errors when trying to restart

    root [/scripts]# ./restartsrv httpd
    11594

    Mar 17 22:58:05 imperial pure-ftpd[31617]: (adam@24.150.19.63) [NOTICE] /home/adam//httpd.conf downloaded (331158 bytes, 156.44KB/sec)
    Mar 17 22:59:31 imperial pure-ftpd[31617]: (adam@24.150.19.63) [NOTICE] Deleted httpd.conf
    Mar 17 22:59:42 imperial pure-ftpd[31617]: (adam@24.150.19.63) [NOTICE] /home/adam//httpd.conf uploaded (342427 bytes, 43.15KB/sec)
    Can't connect at ./restartsrv line 205, <TAIL> line 169217.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

first test apache conf file by running /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl configtest

your problem exist probably because you edited httpd.conf in windows system, as you probably know windows applications add ^M invisible characters to the end of the line.

I had the same problem when my customer edited cgi script in wordpad...
