    Hi,

Recently a virtfs directory appeared although it hasn't been modified in about a month now. The one client inside it does have shell access, but not jail shell access.

Interestingly though when I look at manage shell access no shell access is enabled for the user in the virtfs directory.

Since this user uses up about 5gb of disk space, it is making itself a rather urgent problem

virtfs is hardlink to the actually files, which means its not taking any space from your disk. If you remove it, you will remove the real hardlink system files, which will break the system. So you can just ignore it.

    hope that helps

Thanks, I realize that deleting it would be a bad concept.

I am just curious why it would appear when I have no jailshell active

I also have some users folders in /home/virtfs/, and I don't have users with shell or jail shell access. How is that possible?

Is there something elese in cPanel that can create this "virtfs" directories?

The default cpanel shell now gives sftp access to all users, even when they don't have shell access. The first time they log into sftp, the system will create their virtfs. :)

On our server configs this means all disk space usage are doubled because the virtfs user dirs are added to the total as well.

Where can we disable this sftp feature to prevent this?
