The other day I had an incident of a users Joomla website getting hacked and having a couple of shell scripts uploaded. My servers are secure and I'm not concerned about the shell scripts too much, but it would be great to stop them anyway. I've already got mod_security installed but it doesn't help much with the shell scripts.
I know that most virus scanners seem to pick up the shell scripts as viruses - is it possible to make clamav or another virus scanner run in the background on the server and scan any new files, just like most virus scanners do on your home computer?
