I installed the exim+virusscan but am running into problems.

After reading through the other forums, I've been unable to find any information to get this thing working correctly.

The email system is currenlty broken. I tails the log and can see messages coming in, but they are not getting distributed.

    Any suggestions? An HOW-TOS?

How is that useful? No description of your post?

I've already read that post. I can only assume you are suggestiing that I try a different solution.

    Not very useful, but thanks.

However, if you think there may be something there that I missed, please feel free to point it out.

Did you download the exim.txt file and save it as /etc/exim.pl?

If you are using RH8.0, there may not be an immediate solution to get the virus scanner working. Do this to disable it temporarily so your mail can be delivered:

    Edit /etc/exim.conf
Find the three lines that start message_filter and comment them out by putting a # at the very beginning of the line.
    Save the file.
    Restart Exim.

Your mail should now be delivered.

Thanks for you responses. drose25, I did what you suggested and email is at least working again. Thanks!

Only a single line on the panic file:

2003-05-08 13:22:45 socket bind() to port 25 for address (any IPv4) failed: Address already in use: daemon abandoned

    Could this be related?

    Updated Exim+Antivirus Package Avaialble now

Greetings, if you looking for the Exim Anti-Virus Package for the Cpanel, it is now at this url: http://www.webspires.com/cpanel-devel/

Currently, there is two packages there.
exim+virusscanner-CLAM - Original with updated items
exim+virusscanner-CLAM+F-Prot - Original with F-Prot Anti-Virus added into the mix

I will be adding the Sophie version soon as I get it working properly with all the installation scripts in tandem.

I don't think that would be related to any problems you're having with the virus scanner. It looks like that may have been Exim trying to start up when it was already running.

Unfortunately I don't have any other suggestions for you.
