    Hi all,

Set my first VPS up yesterday and brought a domain name from 123-reg and got the domain working properly.

However today I set up an email account via cPanel. The email account can send out emails but can't receive any.

What changes need to be made so that I can receive email? I've uploaded screenshots of DNS settings on 123-reg. Do these need to be change or is it something on the VPS side.

An explanation of any changes needed would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Okay, followed the guide and at intoDNS.com everything is green apart from the number of MX records is blue due to there only being 1 MX record. Is this a major problem?

I'll wait 24 hours before running some tests so it all propagates properly but 3 questions.

    1) Everything in green = good to go.
    2) This all goes through the DNS Zone I've setup on my VPS?
    3) MX = mail settings for DNS Zone so any mail is going to the right IP?

Yes, provided IntoDNS shows you that your name servers use IP addresses associated with your cPanel server then you can safely assume it's correctly configured. While it can sometimes take up to 24 hours for propagation, it's often propagated in a matter of minutes. Yes, the default MX records configured in the cPanel zone file use the MX records pointing to the cPanel server.

    Thank you.
