Would like to create a VMware VPS template that has cPanels installed already. This way we can automate the creation process by the customer.

Doing this manually would take a very long time if 20 customers signed up.

Is it possible to do one fresh CentOS install, one fresh cPanel install?

and then just make a template of this? Some things (like license) will need refreshing.

Does anyone else do this?

What would I need to do when redeploying this image?

Obviously I would need to:

- Change /etc/{networking stuff}
- machine has new hostname, IP address as default
- Do some magic to erase cPanel license info so refreshed (HOW?)
- {What else?}
- Run upgrades (security, cPanel)

Or is there a guide out there or some post which covers this?

Thank You!

Was this ever discussed further?

Hello :)

You can search for third-party templates from other companies on a search engine, but cPanel does not publish any template files. Cloud Linux offers some images at:

Installation > VMware Images

Thank you.
