VPS/WHM DNS Clustering

I have come from a reseller WHM account to VPS/WHM server.

The signup included cpanel, I have run thru initial config this pre-filled most boxes.

I setup one new account/domain.

My vps host told me the dns servers to use, these are external to my server. Problem is the dns info is not propagating to these servers.

If I nslookup on these server they respond with a server error (only on this domain).

What have I missed?
