I've seen mention of cpanel supporting virtual private servers somewhere on this forum and WHT as well.

    Is it available or doable?

Mine is VPS. I know there are some differences but I am not sure what they are.

Could you tell me a bit more?

Is this thru a Web Host or a cpanel reseller...etc.

    cPanel Reseller http://www.onsmart.net/smartpriv.htm

I have been satisfied. They have great service. Live chat with real solutions. They seem to really have their act together. When I have presented them with a technical problem, I did not get 'we'll look into it.'

They already knew the issure and it's resolution. They really seem to know cPanel. After the initial setup, I have not had a single issue. Much of the things I read about in the Forum have already been done when I check. They use their own custom Linux RH Kernel. Check them out. (No I don't work or sell for them. I'm a noob)

If you have any specific question I can answer, let me know.

    Thanks Dan.

Looked at the link and the page says something about:

Confixx, which allows you to manage multiple sites from one server

    Not Cpanel/WHM

I don't think it is the easiest technology to setup. Most stuff you see labeled as VPS seems to be shared hosting. This is the real deal.

It's possible that they maybe using confixx to setup the vps's and then installing cpanel for each vps.

    Just a thought

Na, I had Confixx at first. It was weak, so I changed it. They wiped my box and installed cPanel. Look at http://layer1.cpanel.net/ and then look for cpanel-vserver-install.

I believe that cPanel has a setup for it.

Is this an Easter Egg? Sorry, but I'm slow on the uptake on this one. I see this, for instance:

    cpanel-vservermgr.tar.gz (Sun Mar 30 15:45:52 2003)

But dare I try an install? Or must this be done on a clean box? And how come there's no talk about it on the Forum? Seems like what resellers would be wanting, no? I would want to be able to offer it to resellers or power users.

    We're using VMWare here...

Running CPanel on VMWare here and very pleased with the results. We've got several hosting co's running CPanel / WHM on vmware slices and all seem very satisfied with the results -- no performance related complaints....

    Regards,
    David
