When I set up an Addon domain, CPanel creates two ways to access the new site: www.NewDomain.com and NewDomain.ParentDomain.com. I want to prevent the second URL from being enabled.

I tried disabling the subdomain ServerAlias in HTTPD.CONF, and that worked. However, the Addon domain will not appear under the list of Addon domains in CPanel.

How do I disable the subdomain URL and still keep it listed in CPanel?

    Thank you,
    Michael

I really don't think you can. It is more or less an all or none type thing.

Thank you. If that's the case, is there any potential trouble with keeping the subdomain disabled in HTTPD.CONF? It appears to work fine, but I don't want to cause trouble by making the domain invisble to CPanel.

Apparently, CPanel simply automates the modifications to HTTPD.CONF, so I could just as well maintain it manually.
