Most of our clients will want to create subdomains that point to the main root directory (public_html) instead of some directory within. I don't want to create wildcard entries for them because it would be a hassle and sometimes they also want subdomains that point to a subdirectory.

My question is: What is the best way to automate this? The ultimate solution would be to provide this feature in cPanel. Is this possible and how?

Currently, I've been just modifying my httpd.conf and removing the subdirectory name when client's create subdomains on their own and want it to point to the main directory, but it's starting to get a little overwhelming.

Thanks for your help and suggestions! :)

The easiest way I've found to do this (not automated) is to go into WHM, 'Park or Point a Domain', pick the main domain from the list, and type in the subdomain into the box.

It will then park their own subdomain onto the main domain.
