After cPanel updated tonight, MD5 had to be reinstalled on all of my servers -- none of the users could login to their accounts until MD5 was reinstalled.

Yep I can confirm that. MD5 and DBI and DBD gone or messed up.

Nick you are breaking our toys again.

How can I fix that fast?
One of my clients can't use his Ikonboard anymore because of a mysql.pm not found (Can't locate DBD/mysql.pm). It all started after the automatic update.
Is this also because of a messed up DBD installation?

Go to whm >> install perl module >> type DBI

You will get a pause and then it will say upgrade/downgrade complete.

If you get an error other than upgrade/downgrade complete, then type /scripts/fixperl in shell and run the DBI install again.

Reinstall perl modules DBI - DBD::Mysql - Digest::MD5 and any other problem ones. This seems to be common on a few of our servers.

I had my own version of MRTG installed and running (the custom RPM available on the Rackshack forums)

After the last update I started getting MRTG error messages, turns out CPanel installed its version (mrtg-2.9.17-3)

I don't mind using the CPanel MRTG, but I'm not sure if it is working properly.

I started MRTG this way :
    /usr/bin/mrtg /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg

Where can I view the stats ?

Yeah, I've also had problems on numerous servers tonight after the update, including the MD5 problem, and other things like bind and mysql being broken. Also on most of the machines with issues, the RPM database is also corrupt and can't be rebuilt, so none of the update or rebuild scripts work.

    Same problem

With the fact that I have over 283 servers under my control for various clients, you can image how much of a nightmare this have become.

Luckly, I had list of servers IP and have SSH key on all of them so I wound up writing a modified version of installdbi script to include the messed up modules and to update Cpan up to latest version plus rewrote the realperlinstaller to point to different Cpan respository to speed up the fixes.

Managed to get all updated in 1 hour to fix that issue. It is very upsetting that I have to stay up late to fix this major problem that CPanel have stuffed down our throat.

Do they not test every update on a couple of servers before releasing it???

    Update

Heh...do you think they ever do that? For past few months, they managed to slip to us some major bugs that is not supposed to be in stable release but managed to slip it past everyone and break things all over the place.

Now for the perl modules, they managed to break just about everything there is. So...what I suggest is to edit the /scripts/installdbi and rename it to installperlfix and add the following modules:

    CPAN, Bundle::CPAN, Digest::MD5, NET::SSLeay, NET::DNS, DBI, DBD::mysql, MIME::Base64

Just put it in the line where the DBD::mysql and NET::DNS with those and run it and you have majority of it fixed there.

    sigh.

i thought STABLE meant just that.

i had some weirdness where CRON didn't send some of my daily logs after the update. that seems to be resolved now though.

more noticeably is the fact that i can't login via SFTP any longer in Dreamweaver MX 2004.

Regular FTP works fine. Restarting the services didn't help.

Kind of frustrated since everything was running smoothly and then whammo.

Luckily no Perl or Database corruption like some of you have mentioned...

Do you mean that Cpanel still forced the update even though you selected stable?

Non of what you all have described has happened to my servers, but.....

This morning, none of my clients can successfully add a user to a database. It says it added them, but when you go back to the manage MySQL Databases page, it doesn't so that user as being added to that database.

You can add databases, you can add users, but you can't add users to databases.

Not to mention that I have no Frontpage support after running the latest buildapache yesterday.

    Stable

Yup..that what they did. Basically.. it seems it is related to the update scripts which is done on nightly basis, that is not related to the Cpanel build which basically affected the servers.

Not sure whats happening, but we dont have our servers set to auto update Cpanel/WHM, only the security updates are auto.

but i woke up this morning to find that i have around 600 processes running on some of my servers, and the cause was mrtg.

no upcp emails came today either.

Perl wasnt working on any of the servers.

    Whats going on?

In some cases upcp for us has never finished leaving behind a mess. On servers that has finished there are processes left behind and also appear some problems that some of you have already metioned here.

What could we do for the servers on whichh upcp never finished?
