Way to override spamassassin and clamav versions

Is there an official - or even a hacked - way to override the version of spamassassin and clamav (and exim, for that matter)? I've seen a lot of frustration with the speed that cpanel changes releases of software as part of the official package, and it seems like someone has probably already fixed this problem.

The issue I have is that if I upgrade the package (clamav|spamassassin|exim), it'll get reinstalled on the next upcp.

For instance, I would like to force the use of spamassassin 3.2.2, instead of 3.2.1, which is currently broken, apparently. Last I checked, the version of clamav running is also vulnerable.

Thanks!
