Web Protect and FrontPage problem???

Hi,

Has anyone have any experience with publishing a site with FrontPage and then using the web protect within Cpanel to password protect it?

I have a user that has done this to a sub-domain but it does not work, i have checked the .htacccess files and they are fine, it just refuses to accept the username/password when accessing.

Afaik, MS FrontPage uses .htaccess files for his own business. If your users want to restrict access to parts of their site they should do it using FrontPage itself:

I thought it was the case but I modified the .htaccess files that FP uploaded without Joy, thanks once again

I have a follow-up on this:

So is it impossible to use cPanel's password protect function (or any use of .htpasswd) when you have Frontpage extenstions then?

This assumes you DO NOT want to use Frontpage's protection at all.
