I have a Default Website Page configured, and yet when I create new accounts, and point a domain name at it, I never get the page - I just get the directory index.

This must be a simple fix, but I can't see it...

On the top of that page where you edit the Default Website Page is says:

Who you are logged in as (root or reseller) when you create a new account is what matters for what you want I think.

In WHM search box type in skeleton and click the result (Skeleton Directory) to see:

That message is meant for root user.

If you're creating accounts under a reseller instead, the directory for that account is here:
    /home/reselleruseernamehere/cpanel3-skel

But the rules still apply to it:

    HTH :)

Hello, i have the same problem.

(from now creepy English srsly sorry ^^)

After a new (re)installation my cPanel not displays the Default Web Template, its says:
    "Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

(Forbidden, bc i had to turn off indexes in apache settings, its listed my full directory and no Default Web Temp site)

    (Iam root)
If i suspend the new account the suspended template works fine so the other templates works, but i cant fix the default template, always the Forbidden error page comes in.

    Any idea?

I have the same problem on my 1 cPanel server, but on the other, it shows the default page for new domains.

    I created a index.html inside /root/cpanel3-skel/public_html with

    *edit*

should've checked the OP date :)
