Hello, I'm running cPanel 11.36.1.5 and I noticed that when creating a new account the webmail dns A record is no longer created by default. Any idea why not?
Ofcourse, I created a test account specifially to verify this. No webmail record is being created.
Have you checked if webmail is enabled in WHM >> Tweak settings ?

in addition to what arun said the two settings in tweak settings I believe are relevant are
Proxy subdomains (enables the relevant virtualhost for apache)
Proxy subdomain creation (this governs whether the dns records are created when an account is created)
Both of these are defaults these days, but if it's no longer happening worth checking it's not got changed by accident.

Everything is "On" in Tweaks, both webmail and proxy domains. I tested this on a second server which also has 11.36.1.5 and the same thing happens there, the webmail dns A record is not being created.
I'll just add it manually to the templates, that should fix it.
