I need to figure out how to put a webmail.domain.com on the same server I host domain.com, but on a different account/IP (for isolation). The domain's email is not handled by cpanel and is on its own mail server. We have another VM running that hosts webmail.domain.com and a third party add-on software for webmail.

However, I'd like to get rid of the VM and put webmail.domain.com on its own IP address on a different account on my cPanel server hosting the domain's website. cPanel complains that webmail.domain.com is already configured in apache and won't let me add an account or parked domain. webmail.domain.com I see gets an automatic park, but doing an unpark of that has no affect. I've also manually removed webmail from the DNS on cPanel (though DNS for this domain is handled remotely on another server). So I'm kind of stuck here and need a work around or how-to.

Thx.

Hello,

You can browse to the "Domains" tab in "WHM >> Tweak Settings" and temporarily disable the "Proxy Subdomains" option. Then, create the new cPanel account for "webmail.domain.tld". Once the account is created, browse back to "WHM >> Tweak Settings" and enable the "Proxy Subdomains" option again.

Thank you.
