Webmail, Dovecot Auth fails

    I have a fresh install of:
    • CENTOS 6.6 x86_64 kvm – cloud
    • WHM. 11.48.2 (Build 3)

      on a google cloud vm.

      I am so far only having issues with the webmail and dovecot, Imap isn't working either. I have googled this for the last 3 days and all the proposed solutions do not work.

      I have anonomysed the info below for obvious reasons. MYVMLOCALIP is the internal ip of the google vm and MYLAPTOPPUBLICIP is the ip of my laptop that I am using to login via webmail.

      I have turned off cpHulk.
      I have correct ownerships of /home/[username]/etc
      This is an issue that affects all users.
      I have opened the following external ports for tcp to the vm: 25,26,110,143,443,465,2083,2085,2095,2096 & 1024-65535
      I have imap enabled.
      I have edited the exim configuration through the UI to send mail via sendgrid.
      I am receiving "Failed: Exim" & "Failed: IMAP" email warnings every few minutes.
      /etc/userdomains contains the relevant [username]@tld: [username]
      I am requiring ssl on all services using the same wildcard ssl certificate bought from rapidssl
      I have reset the password on the email and problem persists.
      I am using the trial version and have only been using for max 4 days.
