I just got a call from a customer who tells me webmail isn't working...

I opened httpd.conf and found the &ScriptAlias& command has been move below the &/virtualhost& block with the following lines

    #Added by cpanel 4.4.0-STABLE_189 install
    ScriptAlias /webmail /usr/local/cpanel/base/wredirect.cgi

Call me dumb, but doesn't the ScriptAlias command need to be WITHIN the &virtualhost& block?

    Please advise!

    Ok,
I looked a little closer and concluded I must be off base with my analysis. I have a backup of the original script and the ScriptAlias block has always been that way..

So... Why has webmail stopped working?

    Define &killed&

Cannot connect via mail.domain.com/webmail/ or..... ?
    Port 2095 fails?

    Did you try:
    /etc/rc.d/init.d/cpanel3 restart

(as root from the command line)

The best &list of basics& that exists now, is basically a search of this particular forum. We have really discussed a lot of shite here, especially in recent months.

:p Unless the company that provides you your cpanel license is adept at helping out, this forum is seriously your best bet. Keep in mind that support docs are on the way
    (mentioned at www.cpanel.net)

Hopefully your weekend is going well.....
    peace.

I just noticed webmail has been down too and when I followed the advice here as well as rebooting the server, nothing worked. It's still not running. Cpanel staff can you please help me asap? I have customers yelling at me already.

Also, where do I go about viewing the error logs for cpanel and it's processes?
