    Hello all,

I am trying to tweak cpanel so that when a user visits theirsite.com/webmail, they are redirected to squirrelmail instead of seeing the cpanel page where they have to choose their webmail interface - I removed the options for neomail and horde, but when a user logs in, they still are stopped at theirdomain.com:2095 and have to click on the squirrelmail link to get into their webmail.

I 'think' I have the right path for where a user is at when they are viewing theirdomain.com:2095 - usr/local/cpanel/base seems to be the root path? There's no index file in there though where I can insert an html or javascript redirect...

Anyone know what I'm trying to describe here? Any suggestions or has this been covered somewhere else? I've looked around for a couple of evenings and haven't found anything that seems to apply. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

here is a quick little how to

    cp /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/wredirect.cgi /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/w2redirect.cgi
    chown root.wheel /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/w2redirect.cgi

above step to ensure cpanel does not overwrite your changes

    nano /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/w2redirect.cgi
    and add /3rdparty/squirrelmail/src/login.php
    to all of the Instances print "Location: lines after the {port}
    cntrol x save

    nano /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf
and edit the lines with webmail to look like this
    ScriptAlias /webmail /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/w2redirect.cgi
    control x save

    service httpd restart

note: your Squirrel mail may be in a different location than mine correct path as needed

    dalem,

Thanks a million for the info - it's working perfectly now.

Note: when using .../webmail.php in the w2redirect.cgi file it sent me to a squirrelmail page that said 'error. must login first' , so I changed the paths to .../login.php and that did the trick.

Note 2: Don't forget the CHOWN step or you get a nasty 500 error :)

    Thanks again for the assist!
