    Good morning everyone!

I seem to be having an issue with webmail on all of my sites this morning. When I goto www.domain.com/webmail I'm brought to the normal screen of where I can choose SquirrelMail or RoundCube to check my email.

When I click on SquirrelMail as I normally use I get an error message:

ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server.

When I click on RoundCube the browser looks like it's trying to load something but never once leaves the page and the browser says in the bottom "Waiting for domain.com"

Everything was working without an issue as of yesterday evening.

    I'm running cPanel 11.25.0-R43473 / WHM 11.25.0 - X 3.9 on Redhat Enterprise 3 with CSF Firewall.

Any suggestions on how to correct this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I have 3 VPS servers with this problem this morning, all which started after the cPanel update overnight. IMAP is failing and cannot restart:

imap failed @ Tue Mar 9 09:19:10 2010. A restart was attempted automagically.
    Service Check Method: [tcp connect]

    Failure Reason: TCP Transaction Log:
<< * OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 UIDPLUS CHILDREN NAMESPACE THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT THREAD=REFERENCES SORT QUOTA IDLE ACL ACL2=UNION STARTTLS] Courier-IMAP ready. Copyright 1998-2008 Double Precision, Inc. See COPYING for distribution information.

I have submitted it to my host for support. If I get a fix, I will share it with you.

My host fixed one of my servers, now they are fixing my other two. So there is a problem/and a fix.

This is what my host did:

    wget ftp://194.199.20.114/linux/redhat/9/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/fam-2.6.8-9.i386.rpm

    rpm -Uvh fam-2.6.8-9.i386.rpm

Since you are using a different version of RH, you would need to issue a different command. I'm running cPanel 11.25.0-R43473 - WHM 11.25.0 - X 3.9
    REDHAT 9 i686 virtuozzo.

Just in case someone one else is searching for the Webmail errors:

HORDE: Login failed because your username or password was entered incorrectly.

SquirrelMail: ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server.

RoundCube: Unexpected condition from IMAP server, closed or corrupt connection to IMAP. Possible mailbox corruption.

Hope this buys you a clue!

    Julie

    njak,

Thanks for all the comments. I couldn't find anything on how to fix it so I've also created a ticket with my host (The Planet) I'll pass your "fix" on to them as well and see if that makes any difference.

Well so far The Planet hasn't been able to fix it yet. In face they sent a ticket into cPanel which then made this response:

So I'm seeing if The Planet can do the suggestions and see what happens from there.

That isnt the cause of this issue.

We have SMTP tweak enabled in CSF on all our servers and this has never caused a problem.

Does anyone else have any ideas as to what might cause this? I've forced a reinstall of courier but this problem persists.

    yum install gamin
(the fam rpm referenced earlier is a part of the gamin yum package)
