Is this my fault as a website owner? Perhaps someone here can answer. I have no idea.
I have been having problems with my website served on a dedicated managed server at Hostgator (to say the least). I got very annoyed when yesterday finally my website actually went down as something was erased from CNAME records which I never touched. All our passwords are changed regularly and they are extremly complex so I am a bit confused how this happens.
This week I also had a few files changing names, adding extentions to them like htaccess1234. I dont know enough about this subject but after a very long complain letter from my end, I just got a one line answer from the host saying this :
"Hello,
I have corrected the necessary security advisory. A symlink patch has already been installed and jailedshell is enabled on all accounts. The other two notices in red are false positive.
Please let us know if you have any questions or require further assistance."
