I am using the tool located at "Home »Backup »Backup Configuration" in the WHM. I have configured the tool to make five daily backups along with weekly and monthly backups. I have also set the backups to be copied via SFTP to another server, and have unchecked the option marked "Retain backups in the default backup directory." This works alright with the daily backups, where after creating the backup, it copies it over and deletes the tar files from the respective directory on my cpanel server. Then when a weekly backup is run, the cpanel successfully creates the backup and copies it via SFTP to the other server, but then also retains the backup on my cpanel server. How can I get it to not retain the weekly/monthly backups on cpanel after copying the backup to my remote server?

I am new here, so if there is any other information I should include, please let me know.

we open allready ticket for the same issue ticked ID 8057713

and There is an internal case already for this issue FB-145365

Quick fix :
if you have HD space issue just disable the daily backups from the day that the weekly and montly backups run.

if you don't have any hd space issue just delet manuel backups until fix out.

Hello,

Internal case CPANEL-9591 addresses an issue where local hard link copies for monthly/weekly backups are retained, regardless of if "Retain backups in the default backup directory" is disabled:

Fixed case CPANEL-9591: Don't create monthly/weekly hardlinks when keeplocal is disabled.

The resolution is published with cPanel version 60.0.31. More information on the build and release process is available at:

Product Versions and the Release Process - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation

Please let us know if the issue persists once your system is updated to this version or newer.

Thank you.
