Weird encoding in /json-api/listpkgs

    Does anyone know where this strange encoding is coming from? It seems it is from the tar.gz. but I don't know why that is also being included with the packages.

    It happens with the xml and json api as well. My guess is that it's attempting to get the source of the file and placing it in the json? Seems like a bug with the api.

    Hi Jamie,

    The xml-api binary for the 'listpkgs' method returns information related to the files in /var/cpanel/packages/.

    I think something/someone may have placed or left a file where they weren't suppose to. My guess is that some either made a manual backup or left the source file from a manual restore in /var/cpanel/packages/ of the packages for "resellers" on you system.

    Check that directory and relocate any files that are not plain text. That directory should only contain plain text files that represent the details of each package.

    That's what I thought. Thanks David! I got the client's sysadmin to clear that situation up ;)
