Weird SSL problem, have a look and help please!

Jan 27, 2004

I'm sure I will look very stupid because of this post

I have a domain that was working fine with it's SSL, I recompiled Apache and now the domain will display using http://domain, but when you try https://domain it will come back with "Page cannot be displayed"!

I have tried all what came to my mind, recompiled again,
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd startssl gave me "/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd startssl: httpd (pid 13386) already running"

Reinstalled the cert. (from WHM) nothing is helping.

The server is on Fedorai686 - CPanel/WHM

Please help me, this is the order page of our website and I really need it back online

Thank you,

Go on, have a guess
Well, make sure that the site is setup correctly in httpd.conf, then stop httpd and start it again with SSL support (make sure all instances of httpd have stopped):

httpd stop

# check all instances of httpd are gone

httpd startssl

You should also check the SSL log in /etc/httpd/logs/ssl_engine_log and see if there are any errors when you browse to the SSL site.

One last thought, you didn't deselect the apache SSL Module option by mistake?
