Hi Friend,

In WHM's "Install cPAddon Scripts", I've seen cPanel CMS Xoops (2.2.3a-Final), and in cPanel I've seen Fantastico's CMS Xoops (2.0.13.1).

cPanel CMS Xoops (edition 2.2.3a-Final) is newer than Fantastico's CMS Xoops (edition 2.0.13.1). So, I should install Xoops CMS directly from WHM's "Install cPAddon Scripts", and not from "Fantastico De Luxe WHM Admin"/cPanel Fantastico Package to install Xoops CMS.

Some questions need your guide/tips:

1. Do you usually install add-on scripts from WHM's "Install cPAddon Scripts" OR from "Fantastico De Luxe WHM Admin"/cPanel Fantastico Package? As there are some common add-on scripts in both places, which is usually the better way to install?

2. Are there any customization and usage differences in cPanel between these two ways of add-on scripts installations?

3. http://www.Xoops.org shows that the newest Xoops version is 2.0.14, but WHM's "Install cPAddon Scripts" shows that the Xoops version is 2.2.3a-Final. What is this Xoops 2.2.3a-Final Version?

Please help tell whatever you think and know!

Thank you very much friend!

David

The scripts in Cpanel and Fantastico are two entirely different things. Fantastico is what is called an "add-on" and has nothing to do with Cpanel.

Several of the Scripts offered by fantastico are simply duplications of what Cpanel already has. You can install from either - via Fantastico or from the scripts menu in the same place

The older version is more stable with some modules, unless someone is an advance user it would be best to use the 2.0.x version. There is also a 3.x version but it needs tweeking to install and get running.
