Same Problem

We have had the same problem, We restarted the exim and cpop services and it started ok, however the mail queue was still waiting for us. We have attepted to deliver the emails individually, some work, some dont. So in answer to your question, it doesnt hurt to restart, but in our case the queue was still there. Should you find a solution, we would appreciate a heads up to fix it.

Wishing you all the best in finding a solution. Trust this has helped in some small way.

i think some of you do not understand the importance of mail-queue

it's there for a reason, restarting exim won't help. What would happen if you would have a really loaded server, somone would send a spam, and then some legit users would have their emails in the queue, and your server or exim restarted? no more emails....

so leave the queue alone. if you insist, there is a link there "delee all messages in the queue". But use it only if you're absolutely sure those emails should be deleted.

that message "Message 1CPwaG-0001Bk-7R is not frozen" that shows when you hit "deliver now" is usually followed by something else...you just have to wait patiently...the reason why that email is in the queue will show up. usually is inbox.lock error, over-quota accounts, rejection from another server for many reaons( blackisted for spam, user unknow, user over quota, domain does not exist etc).

Along with what jester mentioned, anything that is "stuck" in the queue will automatically (or should) remove itself in 4 days 8 hours after it being originally initiated. That is the defaul queue wait length.
