what is grpck?

I get this around midnight. It seems new to me from what I remember. I have automatic daily backups and stats logs run only once a day at 00:00. What is the grpck exactly? Look at the insane load (CPU now at 11+%)

The grpck command verifies the correctness of the group definitions in the user database files by checking the definitions for ALL the groups or for the groups specified by the Group parameter.
