what is Retained in new backup system?

    Hello

    i see option called retain and set number of it

    what is the retain ? is how many folders backup made for daily ? for example if i set 5 in retain in daily backup so the daily backup will made 5 folders for 5 days and the 6th day he will write from beginning of the folder is that the purpose of retain backup ?

    i need more explanation about this feature

    why no one answer my question

    it's simple if i set 5 in retain in daily backup , backup will create 5 folders ? each folder create every day and 6th day the backup of the first folder created will be overwritten and so on ?

    Yes, you are correct in that if you choose to retain five backups, then the sixth backup replaces the oldest of the existing five backup directories.
