what is the advantage and disadvantage of setting MaxRequestPerChild = 1?

I believe that MaxRequestPerChild is to the connection to the server each request is made
correct me if i am wrong because i am still learning about all these stuff
My first question is what is the advantage and disadvantage of setting MaxRequestPerChild = 1?
My second question is what is the suitable MaxRequestPerChild for development server?
My last question is how to set the MaxRequestPerChild?

I wouldn't set MaxRequestPerChild to 1 on a machine, since this represents the number of requests each Apache child process can serve before it kills itself off. If you set it to 1, then that process can only serve 1 request before killing itself off. While killing of the process that quickly can improve memory on the machine, it will reduce speeds for page loads.

Also, you would need to indicate which MPM and PHP handler is being used to even know how Apache is serving pages, since the various PHP handlers work differently in how they serve processes.
