What is the "nimbus(spooler)" process and why is it taking 100% CPU?

    Hello,

    When you aren't certain what a process is doing, you could lsof the process number to see:

    Code:
    lsof -p 30531
    The process will then show what libraries and other files it is accessing for running. You can see more details about it at this location:

    Project Computing - Products

    If you grep for nimbus in /etc/services it is also listed:

    grep -i nimbus
    Here's the company that appears to make it:

    NIM TP Monitor - CCA Software Pty Ltd

    I suggest contacting your datacenter, NOC or provider for further details to see if there's a reason it's being used.
