Many skins detect Fantastico. x, x2, xcontroller, umm... most of the paid ones out there. You'll need to create a sym-link for each skin's directory for them to use Fantastico.

    Hi
'You'll need to create a sym-link for each skin's directory for them to use Fantastico.'

How do I do that? Can someone give me the ssh commands needed to do this or point me to a post that is related?

    Thanks.

Cpanel XP supports Fantastico. Kosmo, the developer of Fantastico, has added support for Cpanel XP in Fantastico so it will be automatically detected.

    Hi
Posting this here in case someone was reading my plea for ssh commands and exactly how to add a sim link above.

I had a very helpful reply from Ilias from fantastico on how to do it:

Use ssh / putty / login as root.
To add a sim link in for say the theme BlueLagoon:

    cd /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/bluelagoon

    (press enter)

    ln -s /home/cotswold/fantastico

    (press enter)

by going to the frontend folder you can see what themes you have installed and then change the commands a bit to do the same on other themes. Won't work on the default theme as this is an older theme and not so configurable.

But will work on most new ones and any paid ones.

    Regards

    Argh!

I have Fantastico - I know, because it's working in xcontroller...

But after trying the "ln [etc]" link command, it's not showing up in bluelagoon or xlagoon...

Anyone else run into this? Any other ideas on how to get the link to appear?

"ln -s /home/cotswold/fantastico" is good only for ahaley :D

All commands below must be entered in SSH. First find out where Fantastico is:
    **locate autoinstallcheck

You will get the Fantastico path (+ filename) displayed, like:
    **/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/fantastico/autoinstallcheck.php

Go back to where you created the non working link and remove it only IF THE PATH DOES NOT MATCH THE ABOVE PATH. Good Example in this case:
    **cd /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/bluelagoon
    **rm -f fantastico

    Bad example in this case:
    **/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/

Create symlink to the path displayed after entering "locate autoinstallcheck"
    **ln -s /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/fantastico

If the answer to "locate autoinstallcheck" was
    **/usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/xcontroller/fantastico/autoinstallcheck.php
then you will need to use:
    **ln -s /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/xcontroller/fantastico
    (just remove the trailing /autoinstallcheck.php)

I must thank you most heartily!

Your explanation was both kind and thorough, and after using it to play around a bit, I not only solved me problems, but have also learned a bit more about the server...

    Many, many thanks!
