I update CPanel when appropriate, which seems to update Apache, MySQL, Cpanel, etc.

What else do I need to do to ensure my machine is up to date and secure? I'd like to update the kernel to the latest version but noticed that:

"Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata relevant to your system have been applied."

So I was wondering, what does CPanel/WHM NOT update on a machine? I installed the very basic RedHat server install, excluding all web services (and let cpanel install those) so it's a pretty bare machine. Is there anything besides the kernel I should worry about updating myself?

Should I use the RPM RedHat released to update the kernel or get the source and compile myself?

Thoughts or reccomendations/advice appreciated. Thanks...
